Not cooling / warm compartment
Failed evaporator fan, blocked defrost drain, a start relay that no longer closes, or a sealed-system leak. We measure suction pressure and compartment differential before quoting anything.
Frost sheeting the back wall
Almost always the defrost circuit - heater, bi-metal thermostat or the control board that fires them. We test each leg rather than replacing the whole assembly.
Water pooling under the crisper
A frozen or clogged defrost drain tube. We clear the tube, fit the correct drain heater clip and check the door gasket seal that let humid air in.
Compressor runs constantly
Dirty condenser coils, a stuck damper, or a thermistor reading low. Left alone it doubles the energy draw and shortens compressor life.
Ice maker stopped filling

Is it worth repairing a refrigerator that is 8 years old?
For built-in and column refrigerators - Thermador, Liebherr, Viking, Monogram, JennAir - almost always yes; these units are engineered for 20+ years and a board or fan replacement is a small fraction of the replacement cost. For a freestanding unit past 12 years with a failed sealed system, we will tell you honestly when replacement is the better spend.
How long does a refrigerator repair take?
Most diagnoses take 30-45 minutes. Around three quarters of repairs - fans, thermistors, defrost heaters, inlet valves, start relays - are finished in the same visit because those parts ride on the van. Sealed-system and compressor work is booked as a second appointment.
