Coffee Maker Repair

Built-in and plumbed coffee systems: descaling faults, brew-unit jams, grinder problems and weak pressure.

Built-in coffee systems are espresso machines fitted into cabinetry, and they need real espresso-machine service – brew unit rebuilds, pump testing and descaling – not a reset and a hopeful reboot.

When you call us about a coffee maker, the first thing that happens is a real diagnosis. A technician measures, tests and reads the appliance’s own fault history before naming a part – because the difference between a $90 component and a $600 one is often a single reading, and guessing costs you both.

What the visit actually involves

You get a two-hour arrival window, not an open-ended day. The technician confirms the fault, quotes a flat price covering parts and labour, and only then opens anything up.

Roughly three quarters of coffee maker repairs finish on the first visit, because the components that fail most often on this appliance already travel on the van. Anything that has to be ordered normally lands within a few business days, and we book the return slot before we leave.

Brands we repair for this appliance

Every manufacturer we service that builds this appliance type is listed further down this page – Miele, Thermador, Wolf, Bosch, JennAir, Monogram among them. Brand matters more than most people expect: a Miele and a Dacor can present the identical error for entirely different reasons, and the diagnostic route is different for each.

Repair or replace?

We will give you a straight answer. The rule we use ourselves: if the repair costs more than half of a comparable new appliance and the unit is past two thirds of its expected service life, replacement is usually the better spend. Below that line – and on almost any built-in or luxury unit – repair wins comfortably. We would rather lose one job than sell you a part you should not buy.

What is your coffee maker doing?

Built-in coffee systems are espresso machines fitted into cabinetry, and they need real espresso-machine service - brew unit rebuilds, pump testing and descaling - not a reset and a hopeful reboot.

Brew unit jammed or will not return home

A dry or worn brew-group seal, or a drive gear that has slipped. We rebuild the group with the correct seal kit and lubricant.

Weak, thin espresso

A grinder drifting out of calibration, a scaled thermoblock, or a pump no longer reaching pressure. We measure pump pressure directly.

Descale message will not clear

A flow meter or level sensor coated in scale, so the machine never sees the descale cycle complete.

Grinder noisy or not feeding

Worn burrs, or oily beans bridging in the hopper. Burr replacement transforms cup quality on a machine of any age.

Water leaking under the cabinet

A cracked water tank, a failed drip-tray sensor, or a plumbed-in connection that has loosened behind the unit.

Milk system not frothing

A clogged milk venturi or a blocked steam path - usually cleaning, occasionally a solenoid.

How it works

From your call to a working appliance

Every visit runs the same way, whichever appliance it is and whichever city you are in.

  • Two-hour arrival window, confirmed by phone or text
  • Flat price approved by you before anything is opened
01

Tell us what it is doing

Call or book online. Give us the brand, the model number if you have it, and what the appliance is actually doing. The more detail, the more likely the part is already on the van.

02

We diagnose it properly

A technician arrives inside a two-hour window, tests the appliance rather than guessing, and explains what failed and why in plain language.

03

You approve a fixed price

You get a flat quote before anything is opened up. Approve it and most repairs are completed the same visit, with the warranty printed on your invoice.

FAQ

coffee maker repair questions

How often should a built-in coffee system be descaled?

Every two to three months on hard water, or whenever the machine asks. Ignoring the prompt is what turns a $0 maintenance cycle into a thermoblock replacement.

Can you service a plumbed-in coffee system?

Yes. Plumbed units add a water connection, filter and drain that we check as part of the visit, including the shut-off behind the cabinet.

Do you replace grinder burrs?

Yes. Burrs are a wear item on every built-in system. Replacing them and recalibrating the grind is one of the most noticeable improvements you can make to an older machine.
